She was predeceased by : her father Feltus Mayers; and her brother Keith Mayers. She is survived by : her husband Fred Gerstein, Jr.; her children, Kristy (Kevin Roy) and Rodney (Amy Gerstein); her grandchildren, Brady Gerstein, Jewel Gerstein and Kalyn Roy; her mother Leila Mae Mayers; and her siblings, Kathy Matheson, Peggy Hall and Lea Ropollo.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Live Oak Church (34890 LA-16, Denham Springs, LA 70706). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
