It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty A. Cortez of Des Allemands, Louisiana, who passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Joseph "Tracy" Cortez; her parents, Murphy Aucoin and Irene Cavalier Aucoin; her daughter Pamela A. Baker; and her siblings, Jimmy Aucoin, Sr., Lucy Ramsey, Doris Tait and Rose Mary Fonseca.

She is survived by : her daughter Stacy M. Engel (Thomas, Jr); her grandchildren, Brandi Baker, Thomas Engel, III and Tracy Engel; and her brother Michael Aucoin.
