He is survived by : his children, Lesa Yates, Bobby Gene Yates III, Bill Yates, Sarah Cardwell, Mattie Yates and David Yates; and his siblings, Rufus Yates, Tony Yates (Tina), Beverly Yates and Phyllis Pruitt. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
