He was predeceased by : his parents, Gerald Fields and Mable Dilsaver Fields; his brother Everette Fields; and his grandson Dakota. He is survived by : his wife Bernadette Darbonne Fields; his children, Beth Sumrall (Timothy), Candice Lanthier, Kimberly Miller (Robert, Jr.), Nichole Fields, Bruce Fields, Junios Gaspard (Megan) and Daniel Fields; his stepsons, Derrick Gaspard, Michael Gaspard and Jeremy Gaspard; and his siblings, Edwin Fields, Nancy Collins, Sandra Thompson and Phyllis Taylor. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
