He is survived by : his wife Suzanne Shepherd Hughes; his children, Thomas Hughes (Jeri Ann Hughes), Josef Hughes, Jr. and Tina Harvey; his mother Barbara Wolfe Hughes; his grandchildren, Alyssa LeBlanc, Anne Marie and Ariana Hughes; his sibling Carrol C. "Bunky" Hughes Jr.; his wife Merrill; and also, Susan Hughes McKenzie (Bobby) and Martha Hughes Smith (Bill). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
