It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irma Marie Cheramie of Galliano, Louisiana, born in Cut Off, Louisiana, who passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Cheramie Sr.; her son Chris Cheramie; her parents, Noemie Bruce Cheramie and Ebdon Cheramie; her siblings, EJ Cheramie and Willa Mae Boudreaux; her parents-in-law, Renis "Frank" Cheramie and Vivian Duffy Cheramie; and her brothers-in-law, Larbow Cheramie and Jack Cheramie.
She is survived by: her children, James Cheramie, Jr. (Mary), Cheryl C. Guidry (Jackson) and Cecile B. LaFleur (Ricky); her grandchildren, Jody Johnson (Carissia Gregoire), James Cheramie III, Anita Pittenger (Chris), Heidi Cheramie, Soliska Cheramie, Elise L. Rabalais (Mitchell), Lindsey LaFleur and Alicia C. Collins (Jordan); her great grandchildren, Gavin Johnson (Aaron), Mia Sigue (Tyler), Maci Johnson, Lelia Taylor, Christopher Cheramie, Caden Hunter and Wyatt Collins; her great great grandchildren, Paxton Pellegrin, Jamerson Sigue, Benson Sigue, Olive Cheramie and Asher Pittenger; her stepgrandchildren, Jackie P. Guidry, Jamie G. Eymard, Xavier Myers Jr., Timberlyn "Worm" Meaux, Topher Pittenger, Taysom Eymard, Megan Guidry, Louis Eymard III and Kaitlyn Eymard; her daughter-in-law Susan G. Cheramie; her brother Jeffery Cheramie (Evelyn); and her sister-in-law Gertie Cheramie.
