With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mamie Marie Lala Vuskovich of Hammond, Louisiana, born in Independence, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 21, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Francis Lala III and Mamie Pauline Cali Lala of Hammond, Louisiana.; her brother Joseph "Buddy" Lala; her nephew Michael Piazza; and her great-nephew Austin Sabold.
She is survived by: her children, Lisha Vuskovich (Michael Allsup), Kara Thevenot (Brian) and Matthew Vuskovich III; her sisters, Josephine Pierce, Marie Ritchie (late Ronnie), Vickie Pilie (Maurice) and Jeannie Krawczyk (Dwayne); her grandchildren, Ethan, Rhodes, Eve and Mamie; and her godchildren, Rhonda and James. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (600 N Oak St, Hammond, LA 70401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery (908 Western Ave, Hammond, LA 70401).
