He was predeceased by : his parents, David Neal and Biela Neal; his daughter Karen Gayle Neal; and his siblings, Morris "Sonny Boy" Neal, Jaunice McCarthy and Gloria Luttrell.

He is survived by : his wife Glenda Ford Neal; his sons, James Michael Neal, Gary Neal (Kala) and Tim Neal (Laine); his grandchildren, Kalip Matthew, Lessie Claire, Sarah and Austin; and his siblings, Edward Neal, David Wayne Neal, Aldis Boone and Geraldine Blackwell.
