She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Anthony Hingle and Leontine Treadaway Hingle; her husband Melville "Mel" Ralph Stromeyer; her son Stuart James Stromeyer; and her siblings, Ernest G. "Mervin" Hingle, Rosemary Hand, Lois Knight and Shirley Treadway Sanborn.
She is survived by: her children, Scott Stromeyer of Nashville, Jean Eriksson (Erik) of Houston and Mark Stromeyer (Tammy) of Walker, Louisiana.; her grandchildren, Becky Rivard (Chris), Chris Stromeyer (Alta), William Stromeyer (Ali), Nick Stromeyer (Justine), Nicole Meece (Brent), Ashley Hall (Chris), Vanessa Perrin (Jon), Kevin Stromeyer (Natasha), Carson Stromeyer and Megan Stromeyer (Hayden Efferson); her stepgrandchildren, Sean Menne, Corey Gisiner, Lee Gisiner, Jack Eriksson, Stacy Eriksson, Will Eriksson, Leigh Ann Weaver, Stuart Gaines-Weaver, Grant Weaver and Abbey Gilliam; and her daughters-in-law, Dorinda Forsythe, Stefanie Caserta and Cheryl Menne. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home (2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elaine's honor to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Foundation or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
