He was predeceased by: his parents, Haakon Olsen and Bertha Lytell; and his children, Ronald Olsen, Jr. and Rhonda Stonicher. He is survived by: his wife Linda Olsen; his children, John Gainer, Shane Olsen and Christina Spence; and his grandchildren, Jesse, Johnny, Kristen, Brianne, Bryan and Chase. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
