She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Rene Emestica, Jose Barrera, Ana Barrera (Kwabena) and Gabriel Pineda (Carmin); her parents, Reyes Barrera and Dolores Rajo; her siblings, Armando, Remberto Sr., Mario, Carlos, Rolando and Miriam; her nephew Milton Rajo; her sister Isabel; her siblings' children, Remberto Jr. (Yolanda), Arnoldo (Olga), Oscar (Lori), Nelson, Joel and Ana Scully (Skip); her sister-in-law Julia Rajo; her grandchildren, Ashley (Joe), Karla (Victor), Jose Jr., Rebecca, Nicolas and Zacarv; and her great grandchildren, Elliyah and Victor.

In lieu of flowers, Vilma was asked prior to her passing on, and she requested you to "Please hug your loved ones, appreciate life.".
