She was predeceased by: her husband Malcom J. Thiel, Jr.; her mother Ethel McCloskey; and her children, Ethel and Donald. She is survived by: her children, Karen Rabalais (Wallace), Cheryl Gautier Perry (Terry), Darlene Benfatti (Jude), Malcom "Bubba" Thiel (Pat) and Dudley Thiel (Teresa); her brother-in-law Michael Thiel; and her grandchildren, Janell Kahl (Nat), Sean Rabalais, Steven Rabalais (Jen), Scott Rabalais, Stacey Rabalais, Christy Mumphrey (Brent), Ray Gautier, Jr., Joey Gautier (Danielle), Dudley Thiel (Katherine), Tara Pilet (Jeff), Emily Strickland (Christian), Amelia Jeanmarie (Brandon) and Andrew Benfatti (Tyler). She is also survived by 24 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
