Byron Ernest Fogleman Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Byron Ernest Fogleman of Lafayette, Louisiana, born in Iota, Louisiana, who passed away on September 13, 2020 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest R. Fogleman, Sr. and Lois Murff Fogleman; his siblings, Dorothy Collins, Ruth Fogleman, Thelma Chappuis, Rudy Fogleman, Sr. and Ernest R. Fogleman, Jr.; and his daughter Lisa Fogleman.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Kay" Marcantel Fogleman; his daughter Karen Fogleman Buras (Paul); his brother Larry Fogleman; his grandchildren, Jack Buras (Katie), Katherine Buras Gitlin (Daniel) and Jeffrey Buras (Amanda); his nephew Dr. Marc J. Fernandez; his grandson Cleo "Bumper" Wilkerson, Jr.; his son-in-law Paul Buras; his nephews, Michael Fogleman and Bryan Fogleman; his great-nephew Colin Hebert; his brother-in-law Cursey L.; his nephew-in-law Daniel Lafrentz; and his nephew Al Chappuis, Jr.. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

In accordance with current COVID-19 mandates, all visitors will be asked to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, Kay asks that mourners send donations to Grace Hospice & Palliative Care of Lafayette (ghospice.com) and Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
