He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Meche and Rose Ella Comeaux; and his siblings, Zulma, Creighton, Ezor, Elric, Anna Joyce, Mary, Hubert, Kermit, Nell Rose and Thelma.

He is survived by: his sister Karen Mire; his wife Doris Couvillion Meche; his daughters, Melissa Meche Little (Trey) of Baton Rouge, Sharon Meche of New Iberia and Amanda Meche Galloway (Sheldon) of Lafayette; his siblings, Dudley Meche (Lorena) of Carencro, Fred Meche (Linda) of Scott and Margaret Leblanc of Carencro; and his grandchildren, Connor Little, Cameron Little, Andre Baumbouree, Josh Baumbouree, Hannah Baumbouree, Hunter Galloway and Tyler Arceneaux.
