He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Davis "Joboy" Sam Jr.; his parents, Davis Sam Sr. and Mary Jefferson; his wife Burnadine Sam; his children, Smokey Guidry (Cindy), Jacolby Sam (Deven), Amie Alexander (Jerome), Tory Carter and Brandy Richardson (Treandes); his grandchildren, Ja'Karl, Tavan, Jenascia, Dontrell, Keyshawn, Brayia, Tre (Anna) and Casius; his siblings, Elsie Blackwell (Rickey), Marlene Viltz, Sharlene Viltz (Ernest), Angela Sam, Linda Sam, Cynthia Batiste (Felton), Mitchell Sam, Michael Sam and Carl Sam; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Fuselier (Jimmy), Brenda Batiste (Lionel), Jennifer Arceneaux, Francella Noel (Eugene), Veronica Arceneaux, Linda Simpson, Priscilla Simpson and PJ Arceneaux. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
