It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edelweiss Hempel (Lafayette, Louisiana), who passed away on December 2, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Kasiske and Minnie Mohr; her husband Harry Hempel; and her grandson Scott Hempel. She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Theriot; and her grandchildren, Angele Grimley (Corey), Ian Corso (Rachael), Marc Lafleur (Shug), Mignon Lafleur, Joshua Breaux (Sancee), Robert Brazell (Ashley) and Randall Brazell. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Indian Bayou United Methodist Church.
