It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Pierre Cella Sr. (Lafayette, Louisiana), who passed away on March 2, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene A. Cella and Hazel Burdin Cella Francisco; his stepsister Eleanor Francisco Straub (John N. Straub); his uncle Dr. John Joseph Burdin; and his cousin J. J. Burdin III.
He is survived by: his former wife Patsy Shelton Cella; his wife Patricia Shelton Cella; his children, Gene P. Cella (Lea Cella), Jon Patrick Cella and Elizabeth Cella Burnell (Robert Burnell); his grandchildren, Trevor Christopher Cella (Ana Cella), Connor Matthew Cella (Miranda Cella), Caroline Elizabeth Burnell and Natalie Celeste Cella; his great grandchild Madeline Cella; and his sisters, Diane Cella Jamison and Joan Cella Arceneaux (Bootsie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to The Cathedral of St John the Evangelist or to Cathedral Carmel School.
