With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerelda M. Champagne of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on January 4, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney Mouton and Elzia Hanks; her husband Vincent Champagne; and her siblings, Mildred Plattsmier and Harvey Mouton.

She is survived by: her children, Van Champagne (Renee), Jeanine Bourque (Danny) and Jeff Champagne; her grandchildren, Jason Bourque (Kerrie), Adam Champagne (Paula), Stephanie Bourque, Meagan Handberry (Nate), Jennifer Bourque, Stephen Champagne (Bria) and Sophia Champagne; her great grandchildren, Daniel Land, Adeline, Colette, Zachary, Rosalie and Samuel Bourque; and her brother Patrick Mouton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in her memory, to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
