He is survived by: his mother Eva Mae Blackwell Edmond; his children, Skylar, Hannah Garrett of Lafayette, His, Harrol Ruffin (Angelisa) of Patterson, LA and Hezekai Garrett of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Macaiah and Makenzie Ruffin of Patterson, LA; his godchildren, Dalana Noel and Mason Carhee; his siblings, Alfred "Preston" Garrett, Patrick, Richard, Howard, Roy Lee, Harold Edmond (Dora) of Lafayette, Cynthia, Arline Edmond, Sandra Landry (Herbert), Sally Jones (Earnest), Mary Lou Cormier (Joseph) and Clara Zeno (Henry); his uncle Jimmy Blackwell of Lake Charles, LA; and his aunts, Clara Blackwell and Ruth Alexander (Cleveland) of Lafayette. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
