He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Brownson Jennings; his parents, James Morton Jennings, Sr. and Grace Dezell Shepard of Jacksonville, FL; and his brother Edward Theodore Jennings, Sr. of New Orleans. He is survived by: his children, Ann S. Jennings of Lafayette, Elizabeth S. Jennings, James M. Jennings III of Lafayette, John D. Jennings and Virginia R. Jennings of Houston, TX.; his grandsons, James M. Jennings IV, Robert Jennings, Gregory Jennings, Jason Bye and Jeffrey Bye; and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Robert Jennings (Beaux) and Ethan Bye. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Due to crowd-size restrictions related to Covid-19, services will be limited to a private graveside service for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Meals on Wheels program of the Lafayette Council on Aging, the Rotary Foundation, or the Alzheimer's Association.
