He was predeceased by: his parents, Beverly Junius Murray, Sr. and Rose Murray; and his brother Preston Murray. He is survived by: his wife Bernie M. Murray; his children, Nicole Murray Lewis, Dr. Dana Wilson (Matthew), Kevin G. Murray and Junius Murray Jr.; his stepchildren, Barbara Lewis (Jerry) and Mercy Jones Jr.; his grandchildren, Sydney Ella-Camille Tunstall, Eryn Nicole Lewis, Edwin Jared Lewis, II, Brandon Emerald Murray, Braxton Butler, Briona Butler and Kevin Gerard Murray, Jr.; and his siblings, Raymond Murray and Denise Coleston. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all attendees must wear masks or face coverings.
