He is survived by: his wife Olys Garcia of Maracaibo, Venezuela; his daughters, Marolys Carolina Maldonado Garcia of Lafayette, Maryolys Andrea Maldonado Garcia (Adrian Arguello) of Lafayette and Marlys Kristina Maldonado Garcia (Francisco Velasquez) of Lafayette; and his siblings, Marza Velasquez (Castor Romero) of Maracaibo, Venezuela, Elsa Maldonado (Jorge Maldonado) of Maracaibo, Venezuela and Blas Maldonado (Maria Maldonado) of Maracaibo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
