He was predeceased by: his former wife Analou Hargrave Pifer; his wife Flora Pifer; his parents, Murel Pifer and Rose Hand Pifer; and his siblings, J. D. Pifer and Flossie Ann McClain.
He is survived by: his children, Michael James Pifer (Patty) of Witchita, KS, Renae Grimm of Houston, TX, Janny Foreman of Houston, TX and Robbie Pifer of Houston, TX; his stepchildren, Perron Sutton of Fort Worth, TX and Tammy Sue Friz of Marshall, TX; his brothers, Darrell D. Pifer (Patty) of Hastings, MI and Gene Authur Pifer (Barbara) of Battle Creek, MI; and his grandchildren, Micah Jay Pifer, Aaron Jay Pifer, Marc Brandon Pifer, Anna Marie Richard, Maria Paige Leblanc, Sara Reihn, Wendy Rice, Emma Friz, Olivia Friz and Elizabeth Friz. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
