With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard McDonald (Lafayette, Louisiana), born in Maurice, Louisiana, who passed away on April 16, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Briggite Guilbeau; his parents, Ernest McDonald and Aminth Breaux; and his siblings, Clarence McDonald, Jesse McDonald, Lloyd McDonald, James McDonald, Beulah Bell, Pearl Richard and Dorothy Walters.
He is survived by: his daughter Dotty McDonald of Lafayette; and his nieces, Phyllis McDonald and Jenny McDonald Dronet.
Due to the restrictions of the current COVID-19 pandemic limiting gatherings to 10 or fewer family members, a private service will be held for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in the name of Richard "Mac" McDonald be made to Hospice of Acadiana Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
