He was predeceased by: his wife Mazie Breaux; his parents, Edna Devillier and Isaac N. Guidry; his son Michael James Guidry; his sister Bernice Guidry Janes; and his half-brother Newton Guidry.

He is survived by: his children, Rodney "Rod" Guidry, Jr. of Lafayette and Deborah "Debbie" Guidry DePue of Savannah; his granddaughters, Nicole Guidry Shields of Montgomery, Lydia DePue Moore of Savannah and Emily Katherine DePue of Charleston, S. C.; and his great grandchildren, Connor Shields of Dallas, Lilly, Caroline Shields of Montgomery and Alder J. Moore of Savannah.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, with Father Joshua Guillory of St. Patrick Catholic Church officiating the service.
