He is survived by: his wife Mary Porter of Lafayette; his sons, John R. Porter, Sr. (Lucretia) of Cankton, Eric Dwayne Porter (Stella) of Lafayette, Samuel Porter, Jr. of Lafayette and Nathan Porter of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Tyra Porter, John Porter, Jr. (Javon), Jeremy Porter, Jacoby Porter, Summer Porter, Halle Porter, Tylin Porter, Aiden Porter, McKenzie Porter, Dominique Broussard (Benson), Mark Webster (Victoria), Kelby Webster (Zakiya), Raphael Webster (Maleny), Erica D. Porter, Ashley Porter, Samuel Porter, III, Nina Porter, Timothy Porter, Trinity Porter and Daylon Porter; and his sisters, Genevieve Porter of Lafayette, Rita Curley of Duson, Anita Porter of Lafayette and Vivian Mouton (Eric) of Lafayette. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
