He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Mary Lee Rock Turpin; his parents, David Merrick Turpin and Margaret Josephine Wood Turpin; and his sister Merrick Louise Turpin Hamley (Stuart Douglas Hamley, Sr.). He is survived by: his children, Katherine Lee Turpin Watt (John) and Merrick Lynn Turpin Valentino (Vernon); his grandchildren, Ryan Steele Valentino, Stanton Taylor Valentino, John Lawrence Valentino and Margaret Clare Mayo; his nephew Stuart Douglas Hamley, Jr.; his cousins, Mopsy Lee Thorne of Vicksburg, Mississippi. and George Lee, Jr. of Vicksburg, Mississippi.; and his wife Mary Lee Rock. He is also survived by his two daughters, two sons-in-law.
