She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon Smith Sr. and Theresa Boudreaux; her siblings, Gordon Smith, Jr. and Barbara Smith Corrales; and her nephew Don Paul Rodrigue.

She is survived by: her husband Herbert W. Thompson; her children, Belina Ledet Hebert (Todd), Darla C. Ledet and Scott A. Ledet; her grandchildren, Lexy Humphrey (Andrew), Matthew Alwell (Kari), Nicole Anderson and Shannon Thompson (James); her sisters, Patricia Smith Fitzgerald (Floyd) and Cindy Smith Fernandez (Mike); her sisters-in-law, Lisa Smith and Rhiannon Boyle; her stepchildren, Becky Lowe (Mark), Sarah Walker (Luke) and Cole Thompson (Jenny); and her stepgrandson Mark Lowe, Jr.. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.
