She was predeceased by: her parents, Aurelia Walsh Slaughter and Orester Verd Slaughter; her brother John Edward Slaughter; and her husband Rutledge H. Deas Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Kathryn Deas Overstreet (Garland) of Hendersonville, NC, John Edward Deas of LeHigh Acres, Brigette Deas Larson (Chris) of Houston, Rutledge H. Deas III (Rusty) of Houston and Virginia Deas Hicks (Bunny) of Columbia, SC.. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
