He was predeceased by: his parents, Oline Courville and Artemon Fruge Sr.; his wife Elda Thibodeaux Fruge; his children, Bob Fruge, Luke Fruge, Lola Fruge and John Fruge; his brothers, Atlas Fruge, Houston Fruge and Dudley Fruge; his half-brother Jimmy Fruge; his stepbrother Joe Cortez; and his sisters, Rose Mouton, Verna Ann Bourgeois and Esther Francois.
He is survived by: his children, Maxine Mary Fruge Richard (Carroll), Thomas Fruge (Laura) and Randall Fruge (Julie); his daughter-in-law Sally Fruge; and his half-siblings, Johnny Fruge and Betty Josey. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (4321 Lake St, Lake Charles, LA 70605). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church (3939 Lake St, Lake Charles, LA 70605).
