She was predeceased by: her parents, P. W. Carter and Gladys Hughes Carter; her husband Thomas "T. J." Mattingly; and her siblings, Carrie Jones, Linda Martin, Susie Watters and Joe Carter.

She is survived by: her children, Phillip W. Mattingly (Carleen) of Lumberton, TX, Kevin L. Mattingly (Pam) of Jasper, Brent Mattingly (Jolene) of Gretna, LA and Phyllis Broussard (Jerry) of Lake Charles; and her sisters, Marie Gillis of Magnolia, TX, Alline Richardson of Minden, LA and Nelda Ronson of Tuscaloosa, AL.. She is also survived by five grandchildren; one step grandchild; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
