She was predeceased by : her husband Walter "Buck" Melancon; her granddaughter Christie Melancon; her parents, Felicien Hymel and Marie LeBouef Hymel; and her siblings, Gertie Lasseigne, Willard Hymel, Russel Hymel and Clifford Hymel.

She is survived by : her children, Don Melancon (Irene) and Wendy Melancon; her granddaughter Michelle Melancon Lambert (Kevin); and her great grandchildren, Joseph, Reese and Ainsley Lambert.
