He was predeceased by : his wife Vera Dean LaPrairie Stafford; his parents, Carter Allen, Sr. and Wincie Kyzar Stafford; his siblings, Alton Lionel Stafford and Fay Anita Stewart; and his son-in-law Scott Sorvaag.

He is survived by : his daughters, Beth Laborde (Nathan), Sorvaag and Jami Stafford; his grandchildren, Steven Laborde (Magan), Scott Laborde (Andrea), Hailey Gaspard (Jerrid), Leigh Guillory (Patrick), Kamryn Ainsworth (Calvin) and Stormy Semmen (Jayce); and his great grandchildren, Jace, Jax, Octavia, Lilly, Weston, Norah, Reid, Barbara and Gatlyn.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Genevieve Catholic Church- Brouillette (4052 LA-452, Marksville, LA 71351). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
