He was predeceased by : his parents, Holmes John Jr. and Rita Mae Bordelon Smith. He is survived by : his wife Dorianne "Dee" DeFreitas Smith; his children, Matthew John Smith (Sarah) of Marksville and Heather Lachney (Jeremy) of Effie; his siblings, Scott Joseph Smith (Michele) of Bunkie, Mona Smith of Marksville and Vicky Smith of Marksville; his niece Casey DeFreitas (John) of Coco Beach, FL.; his nephew Douglas Smith of Cottonport; his great-nephew Layton Smith of Cottonport; and his grandchildren, Kylee Smith, Madison Lachney, Reagan Lachney, Khloe Dillard and Tobe Smith. He is also survived by extended family and close friends.
