He was predeceased by : his wife Cheriesse Cortez; his parents, Elsa Michael Cortez Sr. and Velma Dempster Cortez; and his great grandchild Olivia Cortez. He is survived by : his daughter Michelle Cortez LaRousse; and his siblings, Kevin, Bradley, Nolan Cortez, Donna Cortez, Theresa, Cynthia, Barbara and Catherine. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
