She was predeceased by : her parents, John William Fortenberry and Rita Derbonne Fortenberry; her siblings, John William Fortenberry and Catherine Veronica Fortenberry; and her nephew Michael G. Ziegeler.

She is survived by : her husband John Robert McGaha; her children, John Robert McGaha, III, Maureen McGaha Sonnier and Patrick James McGaha; her grandchildren, Brennan Stuart Sonnier, Jude William Sonnier, Christian Scott Sonnier and Anne Marie Sonnier; her sisters, Mary Fortenberry Barnes and Angela Fortenberry Passafume; her siblings-in-law, Geraldine, Dennis Ziegeler and Terry McGaha; and her nieces and nephews, Jessica Fortenberry Chaisson, Ashleigh V. Passafume, David J. Passafume and Christine Ziegeler Pauley-Lataxes. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church (3368 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Little Sister's of the Poor, an organization Anne felt dear to her heart.
