He is survived by: his wife Ellis Hanchett; his children, Ben Joseph Hanchett, Jr. and Benita Hanchett Stevens (Dominick); his siblings, Mary F. Hanchett, Martha A. Wilson (James), Catherine Golden (Antoine), Betty J. Hanchett and Dr. Donald J. Hanchett (Geonice); and his sister-in-law Eula Hanchett. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
