We are sad to announce that on April 16, 2024, Bessie Jane Woods of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Jessie Woods, Jr. and Mary Jane Woods; and her brothers, Jessie Lee Woods and Robert Louis Woods. She is survived by : her daughter Shelia Nix; her grandchildren, Gia Nix and Gerald Nix, Jr.; her son-in-law Gerald Nix, Sr.; her siblings, Alma Jackson (Louis), Edna Young (Alvin) and Betha Augustine (Calvin); and her nieces and nephews, Geniery Pickett, Veronica Tuner, Renarda Polk, Sedgewick Young and Wilbert Christal.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Faith Church (9300 I-10 Service Rd, New Orleans, LA 70127). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. Viewing was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Little Zion Baptist Church.
