She was predeceased by: her husband Theriot Townsend; her parents, Gwendolyn Thomas and Alfred Joseph; and her siblings, Bruce, Danell Thomas and Patricia Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Ernest Butler Jr. (Niya) and Cyrona Thomas Lowe; and her grandchildren, Khalil Thomas (Merjani), Summer Butler, Nigel Butler, Jade Prater, Ernest Butler III, Caywamie Lowe Jr., Nirieya Butler and Cace Lowe. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gentilly Baptist Church (5141 Franklin Ave, New Orleans, LA 70112). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
