She was predeceased by: her child Willie Deric Holmes; her parents, Willie Carter and Earnestine Pierre Carter; and her siblings, Benjamin Fisher, Jr., Noel Carter, Willie Carter and Dorothy Carter Anderson.

She is survived by: her husband Larry G. Reed; and her sisters, Ruby Mae Carter and Emily Anderson. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
