He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward M. Gordon, Jr. and Inez Walker Gordon; his sisters, Joan Gordon Alexander and Elaine Gordon Hoffmann; and his sons, Edward "Chip" M. Gordon, IV and Robert Hunter Gordon. He is also survived by numerous cousins and his grandchildren.

Donations to any Catholic charity are preferred in lieu of flowers.
