It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Erskine Riles Sr. of New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Jessie Butler; his wife Frances Louise Batteau Riles; his son James Riles Jr.; his father Freeman Riles, Sr.; and his siblings, William Reuben, Deborah Riles-Christoval and Victoria Mutin.
He is survived by: his children, Alfred (Kathy), Troy, Jesse of Los Angeles, CA, Stanley of Las Vegas, NV., Elaine Marsh and Wanda Smith; his grandchildren, Eddie Marsh, Damien Marsh, Dinal Riles, Shong Riles (Sharon), Jonathan Riles, Kristopher Hayes (Erin), Keisha Williams (Tyronne), Natika Burton, Ahshaki Riles, Traci Trice (Shawn), Cortney Riles and Telisha Elder; his sister-in-law Shirley Hicks; and his brother Freeman Riles Jr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
