We are sad to announce that on October 15, 2025, at the age of 76, John Leon Mangiaracina Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint John Leon leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Mangiaracina, Sr. and Cecile Marino Mangiaracina. He is survived by: his son John L. Mangiaracina, III; and his former wife Wendy Mangiaracina (Grace Petrucco). He is also survived by numerous cousins and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Funeral Home (5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124). A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery (5190 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124).
