She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Simmons and Ethel Jones Simmons; her husband Ernest Turner; and her brother Charles Eugene Simmons. She is survived by: her siblings, Ethel Louise Wilson, John Edwin Simmons and Catherine Ducre; and her children, Joyce J. Carter, Vincent Carter, Mark Simmons, Jeffery Simmons, Angelina L. Carter, Schirra Simmons and Tonya Smoot. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
