Rosemary Breaux-Ellison Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rosemary Breaux-Ellison of New Orleans, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 28, 2025 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Percy Breaux and Theresa Breaux; her grandparents, Paul and Irene Lumpkins; her siblings, Dorothy B. Jones, Percy C. Breaux, Irene B. Griffin, Marie B. Johnson, Barbara Breaux, Edmond Breaux, Judy B. Fisher and Agnes Breaux; her son Kirkland Ellison; her grandson Joseph Hart; her great grandchild Thomas Martin; her nephews, Eugene Anthony "Tony" Jones and Jermaine Breaux; and her sons-in-law, William Bates Jr. and Lenel Vaughn.
She is survived by: her husband Willie James Ellison of New Orleans, LA; her children, Loyce Hart (Napoleon), Joyce Vaughn (Eric) of Mobile, AL, Charles Hart (Kevia) of Jacksonville, FL, Alicia Hart Cooper (Leroy) of New Orleans, LA, Charlette Hart Vaughn of League City, TX, Paula Fort (John) of Jacksonville, FL, Richard Hart (Sha'Day) of Ferriday, LA, Cheryl Bonner (Tracy) of Arlington, TX and Willie James Ellison Jr. of New Orleans, LA; her grandchild Marvel Ellison of New Orleans, LA.; her brother Bruce A. Breaux; and her siblings-in-law, Margie Clark, Betty Lee and Leroy Matthews. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church (421 St Patrick St, Donaldsonville, LA 70346). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
