She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Florence Gardner and Joseph Cummings; her children, Miyoshi Thomas and Eldridge Simpson; and her boyfriend Alfred Lee.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First Emanuel Baptist Church (1829 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA 70130).
