He was predeceased by : his wife Georgia Carpenter; his daughter Debra Carpenter; and his siblings, R. B. Carpenter, Ralph Carpenter, Clara Campbell and Jewell McGraw.
He is survived by : his children, Gary Carpenter (Cindy) of Oakdale and Susan Carpenter Gotreaux (Frank) of Pollock; his grandchildren, Kyle Gotreaux, Jake Carpenter, Hannah Carpenter Reed, Lori Gotreaux and Shelly Rider; his great grandchildren, Madelyn Gotreaux, Hunter Gotreaux, Raelynn Gotreaux and Whitleigh Gotreaux; and his friends, Clark O'Banion and Lonnie Welch.
