He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosie Yent and Jacob Ellenberger; his wife Cecile Dugas Ellenberger; his son Richard Ellenberger; and his children-in-law, Bobby Tallo and Mary Lou Ellenberger.

He is survived by: his children, Jeannette Kirby (Mike), Brenda Alfano (Vince), Darlene Tallo (Bobby), Cecilia Sacra (Duane), Bradford Ellenberger (Mary Lou), Cecil Ellenberger (Belinda) and Rudolph Ellenberger, Jr. (Diane). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
