He is survived by: his wife Avis Gaines; his sons, David D. Gaines (Anne) and Mark L. Gaines (Pam); his grandsons, Duncan Armentor, Andrew Livingston Gaines and Anthony Norman Gaines; his great grandchildren, Duncan Jr., Chloe, Brighid, Haven, Alyvia, Sawyer and Sadie; and his sisters, Jane Elizabeth Stroud, Precilla Anne Doughty and Linda Sue Poss. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
