He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Agnes Schukis; his siblings, Linda, Jennifer and Paul; his wife Jenny Lou Cochran Bird of Rayville, LA; his stepson Lee Bird of Austin, TX; his aunt Ann Ford; and his cousin Cornelius Ford of San Clemente, CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Atkins Family Cemetery in Athens, LA.
